TThe hidden problem of FGM in the UK

Students for Global Health Cambridge are proud to present ‘The hidden problem of female genital mutilation (FGM) in the UK’ - an event for International Women’s Day, on Wednesday 13th March 19:30-20:00 in the Bowett Room of Queen’s College. The event will feature a conversation between Dr. Charlotte Proudman, a human rights barrister, activist and fellow of Queen’s college, and Dr. Leyla Hussein, a psychotherapist who founded The Dahlia Project, the UK’s first specialist therapeutic service for FGM survivors, and co-founded anti-FGM charity Daughters of Eve.

CHOP Raffle and Open Letter

Cambridge Homeless Outreach Programme (CHOP) are organising an end-of-term raffle to raise money for Street Aid and the Whitworth Trust. Street Aid is a fund which provides grants to people which help them move off the streets into accommodation, and the Whitworth Trust operates Whitworth House, a homelessness hostel which caters for young women, particularly those who have experienced physical or sexual abuse and do not feel safe cohabiting with men.

Bolivia Unlimited is an organisation founded by Oxford graduates in 2010 and Bolivian journalists, and is based out of La Paz, Bolivia, in South America. We are dedicated to promoting journalism, intercultural exchange, and Bolivian culture to the English-speaking world. We run 1-3 month internship programmes in journalism, documentary production or Spanish, designed for students interested in learning Spanish and getting an insight into the world of print or video journalism.

Engage for Change

Calling all PhDs, Post-docs, Masters and Undergraduates of the University of Cambridge! How do we turn talk into action? Engage for Change is a programme for people who want to learn to make change happen, through having effective conversations with those around them. You will design, implement and evaluate your own environmental sustainability-related intervention, using the University as a testing-ground for the skills that you’ll develop through the programme. Applications for our Easter cohort are open until Wednesday 10th April at 3pm.
