CHOP Reps

One thing that many people are struck by when they arrive in Cambridge is how prevalent homelessness is here. Cambridge Homeless Outreach Programme (CHOP) is a student society which works to provide students with opportunities to fundraise, volunteer and support the homeless community in the city. CHOP is recruiting college reps to promote events in each college and run their own mini events, such as collections and bake sales. If you’re interested please email yg321@cam.

Journalism Training Programmes in South America

Bolivia Unlimited is a non-profit, online and print publication that provides students with a learning experience in Bolivia – a country rich with Indigenous cultures, extensive biodiversity and one of Latin America’s fastest growing economies. We offer 1–3 month internship programmes in journalism, video documentary production or Spanish. The monthly magazine Bolivian Express began in 2010, when a group of Bolivian Oxford University students realised none of their peers knew much about their country-of-origin.

We’ve published some advice, and a sample of this year’s first (detected) fraudulent email on the UIS website, at https://www.uis.cam.ac.uk/news/financial-phish.
