Environmental Auditing Opportunity

The Environment and Energy Section of the University is currently recruiting for students to carry out Green Impact auditing on 3 May. University of Cambridge students with an interest in environmental and sustainability issues will gain practical skills and knowledge, receive a CV-boosting IEMA–approved training certificate, and will form an important part of the University’s Green Impact scheme. After a morning training session, an audit visit is organised to two or more departments or colleges to verify their sustainability achievements, and confirm their award through the University’s flagship environmental awards scheme.

Town and Gown 10k Run

On Sunday the 21st October, Muscular Dystrophy UK will be holding the much awaited Cambridge Town and Gown 10k run. The scenic route takes you through the heart of Cambridge passing many landmarks, historic University College buildings and along the River Cam. We are inviting all Cambridge Colleges to enter into our ‘Participation Champions’ competition. The college with the most runners signed up to volunteer or run, will receive a trophy which will be passed on for engraving each year.

The job involves doing activities with groups of international kids, such as sports, punting, parties, cupcake decorating, London walking tours and museum trips. Non Residential position in Central Cambridge and in Magdalene College for 30 hrs a week for 4-9 weeks between the 20th of June and the 5th of August. Student testers wanted for focus-enhancing biometric wearable

We are a small team of current students and alumni who designed this wearable and are looking for early feedback. We know from our own experience with Tripos (11 of them altogether!), it is so easy to get stressed and distracted amidst during exam term. This is why we have built this technology, to help us stay focused and be more productive. The biometrics captures user’s cognitive states which enable the AI to coach user to optimise focus.

Participants needed for brain stimulation study

Our lab at the Department of Psychology at the University of Cambridge is currently looking for participants in psychological research. The purpose of this study is to examine the brain’s mechanisms of 3D depth perception. Most of the experiment will take place over separate days in the Department of Psychology (Downing Site, CB2 3EB). During the experiment, you will be asked to perform a visual task. You will receive brain stimulation to investigate the role of certain brain networks in visual perception.
